Guinean born Hadja is a Paris based fashion model who has been selected for this month’s Face of UZURI . With beauty this extraordinary, if she weren’t a model she would still be getting lots of attention.
UZURI: Your look is very unique, did you always want to model?
Hadja:
In a way, yes. My father used to encourage me to pursue modeling. I was always looking at pictures of Katoucha in magazines. She was my role model.
UZURI:
What is the coolest thing about living in Paris?
Hadja:
Paris is a very cool city. Lots of fun and lots of things to do.
UZURI:
When and how did you get into modeling?
Hadja:
I was 16 when I started. I was quiet and young compared to the other girls.
UZURI:
Do you think it is important for a model to know which market she should be targeting? For example visual publications or runway/catwalks?
Hadja:
Yes, of course! For example I know that I am better in runway than in photo shoots so I rather favor the fashion shows!
UZURI:
What is the hardest thing for you being a model?

Hadja:
Uhhhh let me think ... to see how people have a negative image of fashion models without knowing what we go through, breaks my heart.
UZURI:
You have beautiful skin...how do you maintain it?
Hadja:
No secret. Just keeping it natural!
UZURI:
Has anyone in the industry asked you to change your look? What would you say if they did?
Hadja:
I have not really been asked to change my look and I think I will say no if I am asked to.
UZURI:
What runway and photo shoots are you most proud of?
Hadja:
I am proud and love what ever runway or photo shoot I do.

UZURI:
How has your catwalk style developed and improved? Do you have a special approach for every designer?
Hadja:
As models, we improve every day, and in each show, we adjust according to the style of the dresses and the designer.
UZURI:
Have you ever said no to something? A nude shot, an uncomfortable photo shoot...?
Hadja:
Yes, several times because nude is not for me.
UZURI:
What’s the biggest mistake a model can do?
Hadja:
Being sensitive to criticism about our look! Because we are always too big, too small, too thin, too fat, too bright, too dark, too beautiful (yes I already heard it lol) too ugly; there is always this is "too much"! So we should not get caught up in the game. My motto is to live by modeling, not for the modeling.
UZURI:
Well Hadja, you really shine. We are honored to have you as our Face of UZURI for October.
Thankyou for your time.
Hadja: That's wonderful. Thanks for having me..
